Who Am I?

220 (3).JPG

My name is Devin, and I am from New Oxford, Pa. I am a recent Architecture graduate from Temple University. The goal of my design site is to share my passion for design & photography with the world. I grew up looking at things differently than others. I like to get away, relax, think, and take in the surrounding beauty. It helps to remind me that I can create things of beauty too.

I have spent the last 5 years at Temple pursuing my passion for design. In August 2020, I will have my masters after taking part in the fast-tracked MArch program. My educational focus has been on the impact architecture has on the wellness and healthfulness of its users. Focusing my research on "Psychosocial Analysis Methods", and exploring the correlation between the natural world and metaphysical world of buildings. When I am not reading, I am always working on bettering my past projects. Making use of Revit, Adobe suite programs, LOTS of trace sheets, and always pushing myself to learn new software. Enhancing my renders, testing out new ways to fabricate my models, and learning what works best for me in my evolving design process.

My previous internships have provided a positive force in my work, helping me to articulate my vision for architectural research and design. Most recently I used this “stay at home” time to continue my exploration of my thesis design project. A project focused on developing a patient-centered oncology remission center in northern Philadelphia, blending urbanization with natural greenery to create an all-inclusive healing experience. Creating an environment that promotes comfort, mental health, and ultimately acts as a space that cleanses and heals; a sense of all encompassed “recovery”.

In my free time, I enjoy photography and I tend to take photographs of anything that catches my eye. I like to capture the action as it unfolds – the true emotions, and the real expressions of people building,s and nature.
